著(zhù)色玻璃廣泛應用于既需采光又需隔熱之處，能合理利用太陽(yáng)光，調節室內溫度，節省空調費用，而且對建筑物的外形有很好的裝飾效果。一般多用作建筑物的門(mén)窗或玻璃幕墻。
1.可有效吸收太陽(yáng)的輻射，產(chǎn)生“冷室效應”，可達到蔽熱節能的效果；
2.可吸收較多的可見(jiàn)光，使透過(guò)的陽(yáng)光變得柔和，避免眩光應改善室內色澤；
3.能較強的吸收太陽(yáng)的紫外線(xiàn)，有效的防止紫外線(xiàn)使室內物品的褪色和變質(zhì)；
4.具有一定的透明度，能清晰地觀(guān)察室外景物；
5.色澤鮮艷，經(jīng)久不變，能增加建筑物的外形美觀(guān)。

（2）按用途：制鏡級、汽車(chē)級、建筑級。著(zhù)色普通平板玻璃按GB4871劃分等級。
（3）按色調：不同顏色系列，包括紫色、金色、綠色、藍色、茶色、灰色、紅色系列等。
（4）著(zhù)色浮法玻璃按厚度：2mm、3mm、4mm、5mm、6mm、8mm、10mm、12mm、15mm、19mm。著(zhù)色普通平板玻璃按厚度分為：2mm、3mm、4mm、5mm。
